My inspiration for becoming a Surgical Technologist comes from my interest in learning more about the human body and understanding how anatomy connects to patient care. I have always been interested in how the body works, and Surgical Technology has given me the opportunity to expand that knowledge while developing hands-on skills in the operating room.
Another important reason I chose this career is my desire to advocate for my patients. When patients enter the operating room, they may feel scared, vulnerable, or unsure of what to expect. As a Surgical Technologist, I want to help create a safe and respectful environment where patients know they are cared for. Even though I may not be the person speaking directly with the patient throughout the entire procedure, I can still be their voice by protecting their safety, maintaining their dignity, and speaking up when something does not seem right.
My goal is to become a knowledgeable, compassionate, and dependable Surgical Technologist who puts patient safety first. I want every patient to feel respected and know that someone on their healthcare team is looking out for their best interests.
